February Yoga Challenge !

We’re all still in lockdown and we’re all fedup ! Thankfully Spring is approaching and we can look forward to brighter and better days ahead. Despite being restricted in our everyday movements we can still make time for ourselves for our own self-care. To help with this, for the month of February all my classes are 30 mins in duration which should make it easier for you to carve out some yoga time in your day. If you’ve been practicing yoga once a week maybe you can practice twice a week or even more. Cant make the ‘live zoom’ classes, no problem, recordings are sent after each class. My name is Alice Carroll and I am a fully qualified Yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance) and Pregnancy Yoga teacher (YTI). I began my yoga journey approximately 20 years ago and found it gave me a sense of wellness both physically and mentally. In Oct 2007 I embarked on a yoga teacher training programme in the Elbowroom, graduating in August 2008 with a Yoga alliance teaching diploma.

I left the corporate world of IT behind me in March 2010 and took the plunge in setting up my own business to pursue a more life-balancing career as a full-time yoga teacher.

I enjoy sharing my passion for yoga and its many benefits to students of all levels. I teach classes suitable for beginners and those who like a stronger practice. My Hatha based classes are fun, fluid, progressive and intuitive with emphasis on the importance of the breath throughout. Each class finishes with a guided relaxation as I believe it is vitally important as a means of integrating all that’s happened in the class and ensuring that the student leaves the class in a relaxed state of body and mind.

In 2012 I opened my own studio in Portarlington, Co. Laois. In 2015 I added other yoga teachers to the class schedule. Over the years I’ve completed trainings in kids yoga, pregnancy yoga, mam & baby yoga, restorative yoga, yin yoga, yoga for sports and chair yoga.

In March 2020 I closed my yoga studio with the advent of the covid-19 virus and began teaching online classes using Zoom which allows people to continue their yoga practice from the comfort & safety of their own homes. While the threat & restrictions of the covid virus remain, I will continue with online classes to ensure all our safety. Welcome to this adventure with me.
